Tomasz Paluchowski

Member

Cluster Q and Hospitality and Travel Association

Glancing at his distinctly Polish name and extensive European experiences, one would not assume that Tomasz (Tom) Paluchowski was born and raised in Springfield, MA. During his undergraduate years at Washington and Lee, Tom split his time practically evenly between Lexington, VA, where he pursued his passion for the equestrian sport as a semi-professional—and internships and exchange programs in Austria, Czechia, Germany, Poland, and Japan. In 2020, on his 21st birthday and at the very onset of Covid-19, he traveled to Munich for a junior summer internship at L.E.K. Consulting. Shortly afterward, he learned that his planned senior year exchange in Denmark was cancelled. But that he held a Polish passport but never lived in Poland, Tom curated an independent senior year spent studying, living, and working there to better connect with his cultural roots and family. He enjoyed this year so thoroughly that he remained in Poland for three more years, working across EMEA on strategy, private equity, and sustainability engagements at L.E.K. Now back in the U.S., Tom is inspired by the vibrant global community at CBS to explore new parts of the globe yet unknown. Having explored 38 countries so far—meticulously tracked via the Been app—he eagerly anticipates future travels with his partner, particularly throughout Central and South America, having visited Brazil together just this January. He most enjoys immersing himself in new cultures through techno / EDM shows and visiting local, hole-in-the-wall restaurants (but certainly holds nothing against the Michelin guide).
