Glen Gilmore, an internationally-recognized digital marketing strategist, will discuss and give actionable recommendations on how you can use social media for professional purposes and will share his thoughts on the transformation of social media to "social business". He will explore the use of social media to establish brand awareness and to make real business connections, and will touch on how social media is used in the start-up space, as well as by members of the Fortune 500.
Glen Gilmore has ranked, for the last two years, near the top of Forbes' list of "Top 50 Social Media Power Influencers" and on the Top 50 Social Media Bloggers Powered by Kred.com A national speaker on the subject of social media marketing, he has been quoted by the likes of MSNBC, Bloomberg, Reuters and CNN on the use of social media marketing by major brands. With over 200,000 followers on the social network Twitter (@GlenGilmore, @SocialMediaLaw1, @HealthcareSMM, @CrisisSocMedia, @UKSocialMedia, etc.), Gilmore has been called a "Twitter Powerhouse" by the Huffington Post.
He is the author of Social Media Law for Business, a book scheduled for publication by McGraw-Hill on December 6, 2013.
During Gilmore's tenure as a two-term Mayor of Hamilton, New Jersey's eighth-largest city, his community was for the first time recognized by Money magazine as one of the "Best Places to Live in America" and by CNN as the "10th Safest City in America". And for his leadership during the 2001 Anthrax Crisis, Gilmore earned many accolades, including: The New York Times "Gilmore became...a national hero", TIME magazine "Gilmore...is a man of action." He also served as Chair of the NJ League of Municipalities Economic Development Task Force.
Glen is also a practicing attorney and teaches Digital Marketing, Crisis Communications and Social Media Law at Rutgers University Center for Management Development while regularly creating and delivering customized training for members of the Fortune 500.
