Twenty years ago food with genetically modified organisms (GMOs) first hit US groceries. Today 80-90% of all corn, alfalfa, and soybean crops are GMOs. In the US, only Connecticut and Maine have labeling laws. Most developed countries have had them for a decade. Studies are at odds on risks to human and environmental health from GMOs and current data remains inconclusive. What does it all mean for business and consumers? Join us and our panel of policy and business experts in examining the food industry’s opportunities and challenges amid the rising tide of consumer support for GMO labeling.
