This interactive workshop is designed to help you navigate and feel comfortable managing difficult conversations which arise in our daily lives. The session will walk you through an easy framework designed to help you understand why conversations sometimes escalate as they relate to sensitive and complex topics. It will also empower you to feel comfortable approaching these conversations with curiosity, respect, and empathy to achieve a mutually beneficial, positive outcome.

Key Learning Objectives:
• Understand the complexities of difficult conversations
• Unpack strategies for handling sensitive dialogues
• Role-play personalized scenarios

Attending this workshop will provide dual credit towards the Community Citizenship Initiative (CCI) and the Phillips Pathway for Inclusive Leadership (PPIL), focusing on the DEI essential skill of managing intercultural dialogue.

This workshop is part of the Leadership Development Series under the auspices of The Reuben Mark Initiative for Organizational Character and Leadership and is co-sponsored by the Office of Student Affairs.
