Come join the chat with Luana Lopes Lara who is one of the co-founders for Kalshi, a trade events contract platform the first federally regulated by the CFTC in the United States. Luana will speak about her trajectory into founding the company as well as her incredible background prior to starting her company.


About the Company: Kalshi has developed an asset class – “event contracts” – and a financial exchange for trading on the outcome of events. After receiving approval from Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), it became the first regulated financial exchange dedicated to trading event contracts.

About the Speaker: Luana Lopes Lara is a founder at Kalshi. Before founding Kalshi, she was a Quantitative Trader at Citadel Securities and Five Rings Capital and Software Engineer at Bridgewater Associates. Luana is a two-time alumna from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science and mathematics, and an M.Eng. degree with a focus in computer science.
