Before the deal models and the diligence, every search starts with a person and a point of view. In this session, Pedro Russell of Shore Search Partners shares the personal side of the ETA journey and shows how searchers turn their own experience and interests into a focused industry thesis. He will talk through how to pick a space worth pursuing, what makes a thesis credible to investors, and how the story you tell about yourself connects to the industries you choose to chase.
Pedro is a Vice President at Shore Search Partners, the dedicated search fund arm of Shore Capital, a lower middle market private equity firm that partners with companies between $1 and $10 million of EBITDA. He sources and partners with MBA stage searchers, independent sponsors, and committed capital vehicles, and supports searchers and portfolio CEOs through acquisition and value creation. He is also a Lecturer in Finance at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he co-teaches the ETA course. Earlier in his career he was Head of Strategy and Business Development at Juno, held Strategy and Operations roles at Cengage Group, and began as a management consultant at RSM US LLP. He holds an MBA from MIT Sloan and a BS in Finance from Bentley University.
