A free, one-day hackathon bringing together 100 Latino builders during National Hispanic Heritage Month. Attendance is free, with food provided.

Participants build across three tracks, all focused on problems our communities face directly: immigration (legal aid intake, plain-language explainers for government forms, interpreter tooling), healthcare access (interpretation at the point of care, insurance navigation, discharge instructions patients can read), and financial access (credit for people without a financial history, remittances, bookkeeping for cash businesses).

The room is deliberately mixed. Immigration attorneys, nurses, social workers and financial counselors build alongside engineers, because the strongest teams pair technical skill with someone who understands the problem firsthand. Students are explicitly welcome, and no coding experience is required to participate.

Sponsors: Base44 (Founding Sponsor), Tavily, ElevenLabs, Twilio.
Community partners: Club Colombia, Fordham University AI Hub, LaFamilia Foundation, Colectivo NYC.
Judges include leaders from Apple, Goldman Sachs, Techstars and Banco de México. Mentors include engineers from NVIDIA and a surgeon from Northwell Health who teaches at CUNY School of Medicine.

Organized by Club Colombia x Christopher Martinez, who directs the AI Tinkerers chapters in New York, Mexico City and Durango. In August he ran Build with Gemma NYC with Google DeepMind at One World Trade Center, drawing 130 participants.
