The research analyst is increasingly important in a world dominated by high frequency trading and passive investments such as ETFs. Analysts no longer just build models, pick securities, and write reports; they are an important part of quantitative strategies and trading around the globe.
Mr. Hott will be speaking from the vantage point of leading analyst teams at market makers (firms who take positions on their own books), with over 10 years of leadership experience. A group of professionals in institutional sales, trading and research from around Wall St. will join Mr. Hott during the second half of the presentation to answer Q&A and talk about careers in their field.
Bio: Mr. Hott has been an analyst for over 20 years, and has run teams at Bear Stearns, Jane Street (where he was brought in to start the Fundamental Research department), and currently at Old Mission Capital. He holds an Economics degree from Johns Hopkins, a JD from University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA focused on statistics, from NYU Stern.
