Details
In the aftermath of a series of unprecedented shocks to the macroeconomy—from the 2008 financial crisis, to the pandemic, to the post pandemic inflation and disinflation, to the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East — there is a widespread recognition that the standard models based on presumptions of equilibrium processes allowing smooth macroeconomic adjustments to shocks are not well suited for answering crucial macroeconomic issues of the day.
The post pandemic inflation and disinflation provides an exciting context in which to examine and assess alternative theories and frameworks for policy making.
Recognized international experts and policymakers will discuss what and how theoretical frameworks were used to address the post pandemic inflation and disinflation and will draw lessons on their strengths, weaknesses, and limitations for policy guidance for central banks.
