A life at the top of the Luxury & Entertainment industry: Conversation with Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo, Chairman at Red Bull Italy SailGPTeam, Founder at Festina Lente Partners, Advisor at Moncler
Details
An entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and advisor born in 1982, he began his career in public relations in Milan at Giorgio Armani, where from 2004 to 2012 he worked alongside Roberta Armani in the Global PR & Entertainment office, managing the brand’s collaborations with international celebrities and talents. In 2012, he joined Moncler - a company he still advises - where he served as Director of Events and Entertainment, working closely with CEO Remo Ruffini.
In 2011, he founded FIOL, a multi-award-winning DOC prosecco label that, from his hometown of Treviso, has gained international recognition, especially in the UK and Canada.
In 2015, Passi moved to New York, where he began exploring the venture capital world, investing in tech companies and innovative start-ups across different sectors, while expanding his network within the financial industry. In 2022, he launched Festina Lente Partners SCSp, a fund managed by the Azimut Group, focused on private companies in fintech, food tech, marketplaces, digital transformation, and smart environment. His portfolio includes start-ups and unicorns such as Bilt Rewards, Skims, Oura Ring, Olipop, Public.com, and Mill Industries.
Passi’s journey into SailGP is driven by his lifelong passion for sport and high-level competition, cultivated from a young age through rugby, playing for Benetton Rugby Treviso and the Italian national youth team. He was also drawn to sailing by following in the footsteps of his father, Alberto Passi de Preposulo, a former sailor with experience in both Atlantic and Mediterranean regattas. In 2025, together with venture capitalist and entrepreneur Assia Grazioli-Venier, and world-renowned Australian sailor Jimmy Spithill, two-time America’s Cup winner, he became the owner of the Red Bull Italy SailGP Team.
