Follow up from 10/3/23 Session on Sourcing and Thesis
Dear all --
Please find the 10/3 session video here:

The slides we shared are attached, as well as the article that Professor Hitscherich mentioned "What Private Equity Firms Say the Do" by Gompers, Kaplan and Mukharlyamov.
In the session we referenced a "paper LBO" which is a tool you can use to do a preliminary calculation to decide if a target company is viable candidate for an LBO. Once you decide upon a target you should at least do a short form LBO for your pitch (ie: the Paper LBO is not sufficient for your final pitch). Our subsequent sessions will go deeper into LBO.
For a short tutorial and template of the Paper LBO you can access/request access to our sharepoint drive folder: https://columbiabusiness.sharepoint.com/:f:/s/privateequityfellowshipprogram2017-2018/EiO_YUp5-nBMquBQP3-yTVMBIkbOpoD1O4TBupcgo6k7uQ?e=aSX7le
Please remember to sign up for our additional sessions on October 6, 10 and 11 (links below).
Thanks and have fun!
