The CBS Distinguished Speaker Series and Media and Technology Program present a conversation with Robert Kyncl, CEO of Warner Music Group. Robert is an entrepreneurial leader and creator economy pioneer with deep experience at the intersection of media, technology, and culture. Prior to joining Warner Music Group in January 2023, he spent 12 years at YouTube as Chief Business Officer, where he played a central role in shaping the company’s global strategy and impact on entertainment. During his tenure, Robert oversaw YouTube’s creative and commercial partnerships and operations, led the expansion of its creator, artist, and media company ecosystem, and drove the development of its paid subscription services, including YouTube Music, YouTube Premium, and YouTube TV. Earlier in his career, Robert spent seven years at Netflix, where he helped lead the company’s evolution into streaming entertainment and was instrumental in launching Netflix’s streaming service in 2007.

The discussion will be moderated by Jonathan Knee, Michael T. Fries Professor of Professional Practice of Media and Technology, Co-Director of the Media and Technology Program. Lunch will be provided post-event while supplies last.
