Kicking off ABA's investment banking recruiting series, this session is your foundation for navigating the process from day one. Whether you're starting from scratch or just want to sharpen the basics, we'll walk through everything you need to know before you start reaching out to bankers. We will also be answering any questions you might have about the process.

What we'll cover:

- The recruiting timeline — how the process unfolds from networking season through superdays, and what to prioritize at each stage
- Coffee chats (CCs) — how to request them, what to ask, and how to follow up without feeling transactional
Firmwide events — how to make the most of them, what recruiters are actually evaluating, and common mistakes to avoid
- Email etiquette — outreach / thank you email templates, subject lines, and turnaround-time norms
- Social and professional etiquette — How to carry yourself at events
