The Silfen Leadership Series is an initiative wherein world-renowned leaders come to campus to speak to students. It is funded by an endowment set up by David ’68 and Lyn Silfen. Each year, a board of six to eight students is selected, with whom we work to run each Silfen session.

As a student-run venture, in conjunction with the Dean's Office and the Office of Development and Alumni Relations, the Series aims to enhance the shared access to intellectual capital between students and the leaders who drive organizations, societies, and markets forward.

This session will be Navigating the Future of Banking: Lessons from a Global Leader Featuring Dan Simkowitz CBS ‘91.

Mr. Simkowitz is Co-President of Morgan Stanley. He is responsible for the Institutional Securities Group (ISG) and serves on the firm’s Operating, Management and Risk Committees, as well as the Morgan Stanley-MUFG Steering Committee. He was also Co-Chair of the Firm’s Capital Commitment Committee.

Starting his career at Morgan Stanley in 1990 in the M&A department and has worked in New York, Tokyo and Hong Kong. He was previously the Co-Head of Global Capital Markets and was the lead capital markets partner for the firm’s assignments with the U.S. Treasury and Federal Reserve during the 2008-2012 financial crisis.
