SUMMARY;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:CBS Distinguished Speaker Series: A Conversation with Cathy Engelbert, Commissioner, WNBA
LOCATION:Private Location (sign in to display)
URL:https://groups.gsb.columbia.edu/rsvp?id=115249
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a CBS Distinguished Speaker Series event featuring Cathy Engelbert, Commissioner of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Since stepping into the role in 2019, she has led the league’s business transformation, securing a historic player-first Collective Bargaining Agreement, raising $75 million in capital from outside investors to fuel expansion, and building a new economic framework to enhance league revenue and stakeholder success. Previously, as CEO of Deloitte, she led a workforce of over 100,000 and was the first woman to lead a Big Four firm. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from a trailblazing leader shaping the future of sports and business. The discussion will be moderated by Adina Sterling, Katherine W. Phillips Associate Professor of Business in the Management Division.\n\nThis in-person-only event will be held at Columbia Business School in Geffen Hall's Cooperman Commons and is limited to Columbia University community members and invited guests. You must present a Columbia University or government-issued ID that matches the name used on your registration to enter. Lunch will be provided for registered guests following the talk, while supplies last.\n\nWe ask that all attendees honor CBS’s standards of professionalism by remaining present and engaged for the duration of the event. If you RSVP but can no longer attend, please notify the organizers at least 24 hours in advance when possible.\n\nInvitations are non-transferable. Registration links are emailed to school listservs and intended for the recipient only. Please do not share or forward them.\n\nThis event will be photographed and video recorded. Attendee images may appear on Columbia Business School (CBS) media channels. If this is a concern, please let us know. Note that large bags, luggage, placards, and signs are not permitted inside the venue. For further inquiries or assistance, contact us at thehub@gsb.columbia.edu.\n---\nEvent Details: https://groups.gsb.columbia.edu/rsvp?id=115249
